The Grange and Old Town Hall
East Haddam, CT
The Town of East Haddam needed to implement a series of upgrades, restoration, preservation, and renovations to the Grange and the Old Town Hall, both built during the 19th century. The Grange required a new ADA access ramp, porch restoration, and window replacements/upgrades and restoration with new double glazing. The Old Town Hall required a new code compliant entry, new interior lighting and fans, window restoration, and miscellaneous renovations. The site required a re-designed drive/parking lot layout, new lights, new stone walls and landscaping, as well as the relocation of a sculpture by renowned artist Heinz Warneke. This project was designed in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for treatment of historic properties. This rejuvenated complex can now continue to serve the needs of the community for many more decades.
